North Bass Trip

The North Bass trip will leave from the Miller downtown dock promptly at 9:00 a.m. on June 24th.

The theme of the trip is the old tv show "Fantasy Island"

Upon arrival you will be greeted at the dock by Mr. Rourke and Tatoo.

The school will have restrooms, food, desserts, and crafts for sale.

Cemetary: Bar, raffles, and meeting spot before the end of the tour for a short skit, prize winners.

Church: Mother Mary for the history and anyone interested in wedding vow renewal.

Corner past church: Caddyshack revisited. Will have actors dressed as some of the characters and two putting greens to try for a hole in two strokes.

On the Fantasy Oddities: A trail (can drive the golf cart) to see the oddities.

Burris yard: Axe throwing and Gilligan's Island character's 50 years later.

There will be a map of NB with marked sites and road names.

No one is to drive or walk on the three construction sites. Workers will be present.

Door prize each cart gets 4 numbers for the door prize drawing. First, Second, and Third prize for the best decorated golf cart.
Prize for best axe throw
Prize for best golfer. If more than one, there will be a drawing.

Short reading and skit of the Tullian soldier returning from the Civil War.

Please bring your own bug spray, sun tan lotion, or whatever you might need for the trip. There are no stores on North Bass!!

Sunday, June 7— “Day in the Life of a Lighthouse Keeper” performed by storyteller Brian Ellis at the South Bass Island Lighthouse at 2 pm.

Saturday, June 13-– LEIHS’s Museum is reviving the Founder’s Day “Ox Roast” at the DeRivera Park event celebrating Founder Jose DeRivera, from 11 am to 4 pm or until the food is all sold. Today is also the 110th Anniversary of the opening of Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial.

Sunday, June 14— Pioneer Cemetery Walk at 4 pm. Focus is on Jose DeRivera in tribute to Founder’s Day Weekend.

Saturday, June 20 — LEIHS’s popular Silent Auction will be held at Ohio’s Island Wine Fest, hosted by Heineman Winery. The auction will be located adjacent to the Wine Tent.

Tuesday, June 23 — LEIHS has postponed the “Lake Erie Islands Sunset Cruise” onboard the Miller ferry boat. The lack of interest in the event will be addressed at a future board meeting, and we will hopefully reschedule a similar event with MBL for late August.

Sunday, TBD — LEIHS has postponed the “Welcome Back Potluck & Membership Drive”.  We’ll share information as it is determined.
