Treasures from the Archives

The Lake Erie Islands Historical Society and Museum is proud to announce our 2017 exhibition “Treasures from the Archives.”  We will have on display many photographs, historical papers, and artifacts that the public rarely sees.  There will be a selection of recent gifts to the museum.  This will give the public a chance to see artifacts that remain in storage  most of the time.  Historical photographs and papers need to be preserved and should not be put on display for long periods of time.  Don’t miss the chance to see these not normally seen Island treasurers!

The museum will be open every day of the season starting Monday, May 15, 2017.

We regret to announce that our long time board member, Norm Hines, passed away Dec. 25th.  Norm was truly an asset to the Lake Erie Islands Historical Society.  Norm will be greatly missed!  There will be no funeral at this time.  Instead, this Spring there will be a service to celebrate the life of Norm.  Rest in Peace!
