Ackerman & Herman Families

Henry Ackerman came from Bavaria at a very young age. He was a tinsmith and had a business on Loraine Avenue, Put-in-Bay.
Michael Herman (Herrmann) was a grape grower on East Point, South Bass Island, and brother to Mrs. Adam (Margaret) Hartlaub.
Roy and Mary (Ackerman) Webster turned the Schiele Estate into “The Castle,” a popular restaurant and bar.
Descendants of this family still live on South Bass.
