The Lake Erie Islands Historical Society has a genealogical database of more than 14,000 island residents and their ancestors/descendants. This collection covers all residents of the islands from early settlers to 20th century summer cottage residents. We also welcome family photographs and journals and we conduct oral histories for our archives.
Our two newest projects are "The Men Who Fought in the Battle of Lake Erie" and "Descendants of Oliver Hazard Perry."
Do you have information on island residents, or would you like to add your family to our files? The Historical Society will gladly keep your family records and photographs safe and available for future generations to enjoy.
The Museum welcomes inquiries, additions and corrections to these ongoing projects. Our best and most accurate information comes from the families themselves!
Please contact our Genealogy Project at genealogy@leihs.org or write LEIHS Genealogy Project, PO Box 25, Put-in-Bay, OH 43456.
