Francis Lifeboat |

One of two remaining Francis Metallic Lifeboats in the United States, this method of lifesaving predates the U.S. Coast Guard. On display in the Boat Building.
Originally there was a lifeboat on Kelleys Island, South Bass Island (Put-in-Bay) and on Marblehead Peninsula. |

Ironclad |
|
Before air travel, the "Ironclad", a row boat built with metal runners, was used to haul the mail, freight and even passengers over the ice in the winter. On display in the Boat Building.

Oliver H. Perry won the Battle of Lake Erie with the help of crewman "Jordan Freeman", shown here at the entrance of the museum.

Hotel Victory |

The Hotel Victory was a magnificent hotel built on the island waterfront with all the trappings of the gilded age. It featured its own power house and trolley system. Come learn more about this great hotel era.
